CCARP

Central Coast Artificial Reef Project
This orgainisation has just obtained Government permission for the sinking of the
ex HMAS Adelaide II off Terrigal ans a diving wreck and artificial reef.
10 years work has paid off and the expected sinking date is in April 2010.

The Terrigal Dive Experience

The Terrigal dive experience is fantastic for SCUBA divers and can only grow better.
You can learn to scuba dive or refresh your diving skills in the tranquil waters of
The Haven at Terrigal.

Terrigal Dive Shop www.terrigaldive.com.au is Australia's oldest dive shop and ideally located over looking The Haven right on the beach. We offer various boat dives to
old wrecks, reefs, caves, drop offs and more. The service is friendly, the showers are hot and the coffee pot is endless.

We are members of all four orgainisations and formally ask to to join us in any or all of these clubs to support your love of SCUBA diving and marine enviroment.

This will help foster a comminity of like minded people to promote SCUBA diving, protect our marine enviorment and resources along with helping promote the Central Coast and it's diving features as you join with this like minded community..

The Central Coast Artificial Reef Project - CCARP has a new domain name www.ccarp.net
and have been successful in the final hurdle in the sinking of the ex HMAS Adelaide for a
dive wreck and artificial reef.

The proposed sinking date is in April 2010 and the wreck will be located about one kilometre south east off the coast at Terrigal and will be a boon to tourism fot Terrigal & the coast.

To compliment this the State Government has allocated funds for a new location for the Central Coast Marine Discovery Centre www.ccmdc.org.au at the old Terrigal Tourism Office on Terrigal Drive. The expected date for opening is in November, 2009 with a full program of activities in place for the December / January summer holidays.

Renewed interest in the two local Non-Profit SCUBA Clubs in the area is underway.

They are:
Terrigal Underwater Group - TUG - http://terrigalunderwatergroup.com
This club is based in these ocean waters.

After learning to SCUBA dive and refresh your skills before the ex HMAS Adelaide II
is sunk with ourselves or elsewhere we encourage you to join this fine SCUBA dive club.

Moorings on The Haven at Terrigal are no longer available the seats in our two dives boats
are of course limited for safety reasons.

Peak ond busy times at Terrigal like Christmas will see seats booked well in advance.

Keen local or even Sydney and Newcastle SCUBA divers are encouraged to join this fine SCUBA diving club and the this one:

Brisbane Water Uqualung Group - BWAC - www.bwac.com.au
which SCUBA dives in the huge area called Brisbane Waters.
These waters are in our south entering in Umina and entending to Gosford
and contains many individual bays and places of other interest.

Many of these bays are like mill ponds and currents increase in the channels that feed these
and run around islands. Currents are extreme at the Rip Bridge where maitland drive joins Daleys Point in the north to Booker Bay on the southern side
as the tide takes 1 hour & 53 minutes to reach Gosford from Ettalong.

This provides many diferent diving experiences for the new ticket holders to the adventerous.

Keep checking back on all three sites.
They are all going to be making numerous updates with the above news.
